Where We Started

InkSynth started as a tooling platform for small businesses.

That version of the company is still here — the tools are still running, the accounts still work. But the direction has shifted.

The original idea was straightforward: Fort Wayne small business owners were paying $400–$2,000 a month to agencies for local SEO content. We built tools that could produce the same output for a fraction of the cost — Fieldroot for content, SiteScout for audits, KeyForge for keyword research, TrustMap for citation consistency.

The tools worked. The problem was adoption. Even people who knew us, who trusted us, couldn't be convinced to try the beta. The local business market wasn't ready, and the broader market had filled in — the moat we were counting on had gone from a gap to a crowd in the time it took to build.

So we changed direction. Not because we failed, but because the honest read of the situation pointed somewhere else. We kept making things — just different things. Books instead of blog content. Card decks instead of keyword tools. The studio model instead of the SaaS model.

This page exists for anyone who wants the full picture. Building in public means being honest about what didn't work, not just what did.

The Original Platform

These tools are still live. If you have an account, it still works.
